Compass Consultants is Hiring an Engineering Technician I Near Minneapolis, MN
Compass Consultants Inc. has a 50 year history of providing leading edge, professional engineering services and consulting for the telecommunications industry. Compass's Outside Plant Department provides utility construction management from oversight to detailed inspection.
This full-time position will be responsible for accurately gathering GPS information and identifying issues in the field, creating construction sketches, testing new and existing facilities for identification and compliance with specifications, and more.
This is a entry level position with a 4 day work week (4/10hr days Mon-Thurs), Company Vehicle Provided /w allowable personal use, Remote Position from Home, Home daily / weekly, Full Health/401K Benefits and Weekly on-time Pay.
We are seeking an individual that is Responsible, Reliable and Trainable. This full-time permanent position is only being offered because we are growing and are looking for new team member for the Perham, MN Headquarters or Minneapolis / St Paul Metropolitan areas. This position will be cross-trained in all aspects of OSP locating, GPS staking, DNR and MNDOT Crossing Requirements, and completing inspections and site plans for drafting.
We are absolutely willing to train the right individual for this rare opportunity.
Minimum qualifications include:
- Computer, communication, and organizational skills
- Independent workstyle
- Ability to work outside in a variety of weather conditions
- Ability to have overnight/extended travel when needed.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Utility/Communications Company Experience
- OSP/ISP Cable design or construction experience
- Military telecommunications experience
- AAS degree in telecommunications/CATV related field
- GIS/GPS License/Certification/Experience
- OSHA Safety Training or Certifications
- A background in telecommunications, satellite, or CATV is highly desired
